The audit targets roughly 300 large facilities—defined as 75 MW or greater—currently navigating the Batch Zero interconnection queue. Additionally, ERCOT is rolling out community impact reviews for 157 medium-sized data center and cryptocurrency sites representing 8,800 MW of anticipated demand.

ERCOT will begin issuing Requests for Information (RFIs) to large load developers starting in late August and September 2026, with follow-up rounds extending through November. Officials also highlighted that 17 large projects representing 6.6 GW of peak demand have completed stability assessments but must pass the audit before receiving approval to energize. While total queue requests exceed 474 GW, ERCOT noted that much of this volume represents speculative or duplicative capacity.
