Artificial intelligence lab Anthropic has agreed to rent roughly $45 billion worth of AI computing capacity from British infrastructure company Nscale. The six-year agreement will draw high-density compute power from Nscale's flagship data center campus in West Virginia to support Anthropic's rapidly expanding model development and inference demands.

Under the terms of the deal, Nscale will furnish Anthropic with cloud compute powered by Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin chip architecture. The Vera Rubin system integrates six distinct chips into a single unified architecture designed to optimize energy efficiency and throughput for large-scale AI workloads. Delivery of the computing capacity is scheduled to begin in late 2027.

The $45 billion agreement represents one of the largest single infrastructure commitments in Anthropic's history.
